About

People often ask me “How did you get into skincare?” To be honest, I don’t really know. What I do know is that I’ve always loved all things beauty. Officially, while still in high school, I got my start behind the makeup counters at Macy’s. During my college days, I had the opportunity to work with both Bobbi Brown and Linda Mason. It was around this time, that my focus seemed to shift a bit toward the skin under the makeup.

In the fall of 1996, I decided to get my esthetics license. I dropped everything to go back to school full time. In 1997 I received my license and SKINSHAPE was born. My first location was a room on the 2nd floor of one of the largest fitness centers in Brooklyn at the time.

Not content with following the trends, I am proud to say that I have been the first in New York to offer many products & services that others now use regularly. I was the first in NY to align myself with a start up skincare line that specialized in custom blending treatments and products on the spot. I was also the first in NY to offer a hair removal service known as “sugaring” to the general public. Sugaring had long been a beauty treatment most familiar to those from the Middle East. I also had the great pleasure of then teaching other estheticians these advanced techniques.

A great review in the Manhattan Users Guide, lead to my start as a “go to” expert for various media outlets. The Joan Hamburg Show, CNN, Good Morning America, Vegetarian Times, Seventeen Magazine, Organic Health Magazine, just to name a few.

In 2000, I started what I thought to be a short term consulting project that turned into a wonderful 10-year ride as the spa director for a now very well known wellness center. But alas, some things are not meant to be forever.

So, here I am now, full of energy, knowledge and ready to create. To create fantastic treatments, products and experiences just for you.
